   The Kybher Group, owner of some of South Mumbai’s landmark restaurants, decided to launch a banquet and conference centre in Mumbai’s Northern suburbs. The idea was to provide the suburban elite with the same 5 star quality services available in South Mumbai. VGC and the Khyber Group christened the new venture Sarai, which means a resting place for travellers.
The logo designed, reflected Sarai’s ultra-luxurious ambience reminiscent of Imperial India. The evocative font conveyed Sarai’s impeccable pedigree and addressed both non-corporate and corporate clients. The diaeresis mark was stylized and treated like a graphic element to express the panoply of premium services offered by Sarai.

   The brochure involved an intensive three day shoot at Sarai. The challenge was to create a communication tool targeting both corporate and non-corporate audiences looking for a lavish party venue in the suburbs.

   The brand identity helped reinforce and propagate the image of lavishness and elegance Sarai wished to be associated with.

   Despite the slowdown and conservative spending habits of the target audience (as a result of the economic slowdown), the advertising resulted in a sharp increase in booking enquiries.
