team mangotree outing 24.09.07
another day out for us thanks to the tips from our customers.

we had a go-kart race and there were a few bumps n bruises but living in the fast lane that is to be expected. this was followed by a meal at a blackpool indian restaurant, talk about busmans holiday. great value, 4 courses for £12 but what were we putting into our bodies? nothing for longivety! all in the aid of science and research. things we do for you! when matre d asked what we thought, we could only say we got a lot for our money but as for the quality – this was wrong table to ask.

thank you ken aka fetla 16.08.07
ken (www.kenbargh.co.uk) asked carolyn & stewart try mangotree, they reported back with this edited txt:

'ken it was honestly most gorgeous indian me and stewart have ever had! i had yellow river soup and oooh madrasi, stewart had the daesy lamb and mango cookies for dessert, we weren't sure about the cookies when we first tried them, but after a couple of bites we loved them. we really liked that he talked us through everything and recommended what would go best with what we chose. the place was beautifully decorated, food abolutely gorgeous and we had an amazing time. thank you for recommending it! he said to ask you about fetla...? lol!'

xtreme dinning 09.06.07
ruth, a regular dinner at mangotree bought her american fiance jason, to sample serious indian food. jason who had never tasted indian curry we questioned his selection of lamb daesy whilst ruth by force of habit chose plain chicken pieces with home made chips. clean plates – nuf said!

i have it on good authority that nemanja vidic dined at mangotree.co.uk the night before the european cup semi final. he devoured a wheelybin full of suicidal heat lamb corpse bhunna made with 3 full size spring lambs and 20 dragon met patti. nothing strange about that you will say, until you hear that he ate it through his a**

vegans 15.03.07

entertained our first vegans. tried to make it special but failed to impress, neither were they magnanimous. lady felt our coconut dish was 'too' coconutty. the gentleman said potatoes were undercooked until advised 'potato' was white radish left crunchy – he took the hump. our potwasher remarked 'who licked these plates' as hardly a chopped onion was visible. odd for someone who werent impressed by our cuisine! they didnt tip the staff but said they would return. though not our nemesis, perhaps restuarants further down the road will provide them better options! didnt notice if shoes were made of leather. funny how you just know at the time of booking it is going to be a bad night!

thank you for a successful valentines night 14.02.07

i was too busy stuck in the kitchen to take pics this year. sorry

when i was at the kindergarton there was this chav from a welltodo family that sat next to me. everyday i would pick his pocket and nick his handerchief. my mum would dutifully wash and return it next day after giving me a roasting and questioning my upbringing. she couldnt believe i would such a thing this to this lovely boy when i had my own handerchief but chose to use my sleeves. he just got on my nerves mum!

confessions and funny things we do 15.10.06

a popular past time in india for young and old is the spinning top. they come in all sizes and many a battle is played in efforts to puncture/spike/break your apponents top which are made of wood and spin on a solid metal spike. having watched the older boys honing their spikes in tree trunks. i decided to hone my top but could not get it to penetrate a tree even when using a rock as a hammer. being an imaginative indian engineer i improvised this honing on my grandmas cushions! when she saw these holes in her favourite pillows and cushions she was understandably horrified and thought her bed had been plagued with worms, bed mites, termites and everything under the moon. accordinging to my grandma if ever an angel walked this planet it was yours truly so i was never a suspect. (though in my crawling days my uncles tied my ankle with a length of rope attached to a stake when i was liable to get into mischief). sorry grandma it was me. as i got older realised the boys were in fact sticking their top spikes into cracks in trees to straighten the spikes not sharpen them!
